The sole of the wedges are ground low on the trailing edge and at the toe and heel. It’s called a C-Grind because, when viewed from above, the trailing edge resembles the letter C. This design allows players to open the clubface more effectively. Even more versatility is offered by the radiused leading edges, allowing players to hit punch shots.
The versatility created by both the low trailing edge and the radiused leading edge make it possible to hit an extraordinarily wide variety of greenside shots with only a single bounce configuration. With most of TaylorMade’s Tour staff using TP forged clubs, it’s a safe bet that the RAC TP wedges are pretty good. We felt the heads were a bit harder than some, though we had no problems spinning golf balls.
The heads look a fraction bigger than others, without being cumbersome or putting you off, and being lighter than others you can attack the golf ball to get the action you require.
This is a nice, simply designed wedge that works well, but is probably more attractive to the TaylorMade fan looking for a wedge than to those looking for the best wedge that money can buy.

The wedges are very eye pleasant. I like the look and the shape of the clubhead. The feeling is very soft and the length control is absolutely amazing. I use the 52° for shots with 1-2 meters roll and the 56° stops right at the impact point. Shots from around 60-80 meters you can easily backspin the ball. The grooves do a good job. These are great wedges in every point. I used them now for half a year and they look absolutely new. I like them better than the Titleist Vokey wedges.
This was the second club that I fell in love with. The first being my 3 wood, (cobra sz) this wedge leaves me speechless. I spent many hours on the practice green learning how to control its distance and different types of shots and then I was ready. My first round I immediately noticed its awesomeness. It stopped when I wanted it to, and ran when I wanted it to. Without a doubt this is one of the highlight clubs in my bag. If you are clueless on wedge choice, give this one a shot.
I would recommend this wedge to any golfer. The weight is a little on the heavy side but it seems to help in thick grass. I think the TaylorMade RAC black wedge is the perfect wedge. I’m getting great ball control and really good spin.
The TaylorMade RAC Black TP Wedge is my favorite club despite having all TM clubs including MB smoke irons. I use this club exclusively from the greenside traps as well as from 90 yards in when there is a trap or hazard to carry. Good Aesthetics, feel, control, and price.
They are the nicest wedges I have ever hit, I play at a 9 handicap and these were the perfect fit for my game. When I hit them for the first time they spun so much I was astounded, I had never been able to yank the chain on a wedge shot but with these wedges it wasn't even really a challenge. All I can say is you should try them because they are a really great club. Happy Golfing!
